Smoothies in the morning are sounding really good right now
But i NEED protien first thing in the morning. Should i just add protien powder to the smoothie? If so is there a specific kind (i have never used it before) is there anything else i can add to beef up the smoothies?

Smoothies are what got me through my last pregnancy. I would throw in a handful of frozen blueberries or frozen sliced bananas or peaches, a scoop of soy protein powder, some plain yogurt and a bit of soy milk. Tasted awesome! I gotta get around to the habit of doing that again each morning.

You also can't taste it if you toss a handful off spinach in. I usually eat spinach salads about 4-5 times a week, and raw spinach is really gross to me right now.

A couple cups of kale with bananas, blueberries, plain yogurt, lemon, and honey. It's fantastic.

I can't recommend a brand of protein powder. Anyone have suggestions?

Oh, to have a Whole Foods in town again! I lived in Houston growing up, so of course there was a Whole Foods, but we do not have one in my current location.

I've got the cookies and cream flavor so even if all I have handy is milk and a banana, it still turns out very yummy.
I haven't tried a smoothie since I've been pregnant though.... now it sounds like the best thing ever! I'm going to have to try one tomorrow morning

If you use milk and yogurt, those are a good source of protein. I usually throw in a handful of hulled hemp seeds as well. Or a peanut/almond butter and banana smoothie (with milk).
