I use prefolds with a cover most of the time, but I like to go without the cover when we're hanging around the house so that I know right away when the diaper is wet. In those cases I fasten the diaper with a snappi, which is fine most of the time, but I can never get the middle teeth to bite in firmly, and so that bit that's supposed to go in the middle often snags my clothes.

Has anyone here had the same problem? If you cut off that middle bit of the snappi will it still work? It certainly isn't doing me much good.

Thanks.

This is one reason that I started pinning. Once I got the hang of it, I stopped using snappis altogether!

Also, pins are much safer for baby when they are coverless. When ds was a tiny infant, I didn't worry about him laying around with an exposed snappi. But now that his is a curious toddler, I would worry about him pulling it loose and hurting himself on it.

Snappis catch onto everything and are even snagging/ruining my CDs. And the babies want to chew on them, soooo I'm considering using pins, except they're at the super wiggley stage where it's hard enough to get a snappi on.

Wow. I love my snappi. You do have to pull it down quite firmly though. It should be in the shape of a "y" not a "t". Mine never lets go when it's on good and tight.

Yep. Use pins. They're actually pretty easy to get a nice fit with.

I've only had problems with that happening with the new snappis. It never happened with the original style ones which is why I searched on ebay to find some old ones.

I like the old snappis better...much easier to get on.

I put them on back wards, if not my little houdini has his diaper off in 30 seconds.

That's so funny becuaes I have a bunch of the old style (they were new, but I bought them a couple of years ago) I was using for the baby, and they weren't gripping the bottom well so finally I opened up a new package a few days ago and no problems with the new ones. I wish I was in the states I'd send you my old ones, I have about 10 of them lying around unused.

i was wondering what you were talking about since i have never had that problem but maybe that i am lucky i got gifted 2 where the bottom snappie was broke off. might be a idea cutting it off. i have never had a problem with leaks or falling off diapers due to not having the 3rd snappie claw
