so easy

Taking care of Jacobs penis has been so easy. NOTHING like all the cleaning i had to (and still have to) do with Justins. I know this isn't news to anyone here. It is so nice though. DH hasn't said one single word about circing him. He even asked me how to care for Jacobs foreskin and was shocked that it took no real care to care for it. He has only changed a few diapers but i have watched him and he has only done the "finger wipe" on it. This is after he refused (and still refuses) to expose Justins penis to clean it. (Justins is pulled into his pelvic area by the tight skin)

Frank....i have a question for you. Jacobs foreskin is....how do i say this?.....rather long. He has a LOT of skin overhanging the glans. Does this mean that he will have a lot of skin as an adult?

Isn't it superbly simple? The body is so amazing.

I know you didn't ask me, but the foreskin on most babies is quite long. In adults, it varies from having lots of overhang, to not completey covering the glans. In other words, there's no real way to predict, as far as I know.

I hope you will post your personal experience with how much easier it is to care for an intact penis on LOTS of public parenting boards!

absolutely! i remember thinking in the week that we brought ds home - caring for the umbilical stump is such a pita, i cannot imagine having to care for *another* wound (and one that gets pee on it on a regular basis to boot).

It doesn't mean a thing, Leigh. When he's an adult, he could have a lot or he could only have enough to barely cover the glans with the tip always sticking out. That boy's got a lotta growing to do and there is just no way to tell how it's going to eventually come out. The penis is the most variable part of the male body. As mentioned above, an infant's foreskin sometimes looks almost too long but it is exactly the right length in virtually all cases.

It's like buying clothes for a child. You buy them a little bit big and they quickly grow into them. You and Adam gave him a foreskin that is a little big so he will have room to grow into it. :LOL

Isn't it funny that we're surprised when it's easy? The culture here makes it sound like you need 30 minutes, AJAX, and a wire scrubber to keep an intact boy clean but it just isn't true.
It must be a relief for you also that your DH is not making a big deal of it anymore.

I just read aloud to my 18 year old intact son the comment you made, Boingo, about needing 30 minutes, Ajax, and a wire scrubber to clean an intact penis. His reaction? "Ouch!" :LOL :LOL
I know a guy named Ajax, so my initial reaction was a bit different than everyone else's.

I agree, one of the great things about a natural body. I don't even wipe my DS unless he's gone #2, my philosophy is "if it isn't dirty, don't clean it! :LOL
