I used disposables on my daughter for 8 months. I think in all that time we had maybe one leak! Seriously.

I have been using cloth for 2 1/2 months. In this period of time we have used 'sposies twice - once while travelling and yesterday when I was re-DWRing my AIOs (DH can't deal with the fitteds, and he is the SAHD). BOTH TIMES we have had major blowouts! Poop EVERYWHERE while travelling and yesterday the whole side of her shirt was wet from pee!

Have I forgotten how to use a 'sposie? I don't know what else to attribute it to, LOL. Plus UGGHHHH I forgot how they STINK! Yuck... I was so happy to get her little bum back into soft comfy cloth.

XOXO

:LOL

I never noticed the smell of sposies either, until we went cloth full time. Now, when I change dipes in the church nursey, the odor just knocks me out!!

That is so funny, the only leaks or explosions I have had are with sposies

I agree, sposies smell funny. Whenever I have one on DS, DH thinks he smells poop.

I am not really good at them. I used cloth since birth on both my kids so I didn't have any real life sposie experience before I started working as a nurse in the NICU. After about 4 years there I noticed people always folded them up and taped them into a little ball, where I always just threw them in the trash wide open. I guess you're supposed to fold them up : I still don't, old habits die hard.

About disposable smell: I got some 7th Generation disposables for a trip, and they are odor free! Very easy on the nose.

I had a lot of leaks with disposables with my first son. None with my second child (girl) and then with Caden, pee always leaked out when he was a newborn and poop ALWAYS leaked out on vacation. GRRRRR. I tried different brands, too. I think it must be how some babies are shaped and the velocity and lubriciousness of their poops.
