So today I went to the Pike Place Market (in Seattle) with some friends from out of town. I was wearing my dd in my Moby Wrap and saw atleast 4 other mamas wearing their babies. My friends didn't really get why I was so excited but I was because I rarely see anybody else wearing their kids when I'm out. What was interesting was they all had Mei Tai's on- one was an EllaRoo and the other an Ergo of the ones I saw up close. I think the other exciting part was that I just ordered a BabyHawk and it was cool to see other babies carried the way I'll be carrying mine soon. Just thought I'd share- and maybe see if anyone who was there is from MDC?!

Yay!! How awesome. I get excited too when I see someone else babywearing. Unfortunately doesn't happen too often

Now I want to move to Seattle!!

It is wonderful to see other babywearers. We have a lot of Bjorn wearers here. In Berkeley, I see a lot more other carriers such as slings and wraps.

that's neat. Last weekend we were at the zoo and I saw a ton of babywearers. Moms and dads, I was excited too. I loved walking around with my baby on my chest, I felt bad for the tiny babies in strollers but was happy to see so many wearing their little ones ... bjorns and infantino's but still

I love it too! I just met a woman at Wild Oats in Columbus. Had her baby in a wrap and mine was in a ring sling. We chatted about wearing our baby's and BF, of course! Ended up finding out we knew each other from a local AP forum. Too cool

Yes! too cool seeing parents wearing their babies. many parents do it where i live. i'm always inclined to say something but have the idea that it might be like saying something to a pregnant woman... that they get comments everytime they go anywhere - don't want to be invasive.

it IS the sweetest thing tho... & the "worn" kids always seem super happy!

I see babywearing everywhere here in my mainstream, midwestern community. I think it makes a difference where I am though - at the mall, it's all strollers and carseat carriers. At the farmers market, it's babywearing. At the library, it's a nice mix of both. And at the semi-annual kids consignment extravaganza last week, there were at least 10 Ergo mamas. I can't wait for my little one to get here so I can carry him around!

I love that too! Last weekend at the Farmers Market I felt out of place with my dd in her stroller. The only reason why she was in there was because I had gotten a massage right before we went and I was trying to take care of my body a little. I did have the Ergo underneath and put her in it after and hour. I love wearing her. I felt like she was so far away and not part of the action down there in the stroller.
