I discovered yesterday that I am pregnant with our second child! We are thrilled although we were not trying yet. We were not exactly cautious either though.

I started a liver cleanse for eczema and other things and had not finished it. We planned to TTC in May for our 6th anniversary which would also give my body more time to detox. Oh well! I am now debating whether or not to continue milk thistle or not while pregnant.

Hope to meet some more Dec. 2006 expectant moms soon!

Just came here to check out the first Dec Due Date post, but after reading your post want to say that I've been taking a combination of milk thistle, dandelion root and flax oil during this pregnancy to try to avoid a rash called PUPPPs that I got postpartum after my second son was born. My midwife feels it's perfectly safe, but certainly do your own research. There are a lot of women out there using it for the same reason I am without any apparent problems.

Yes, it depends... I did a detox just before getting pg and it said clearly NOT to do it while pg (as do all the research I have done re: detox and pg)... so do ask or research for yourself and CONGRATS!
I would personally stop the milk thistle. Try to stay away from herbs that aren't tonic (like rr leaf, nettle, alfalfa, etc.) especially in the first trimester.
Congrats on your pregnancy!
