"when are you going to stop feeding him the boob??"today!!
i never b/f dd for long(personal issues that have been worked on long and hard!!) so i never understood the bond and benefits, griff loves to nurse.it's his answer to 'everything' :LOL he can't speak so he just searches
i have a very calm well balanced baby and i know it has a lot to do with my b/f him,he s=feels very secure. so anyway my point is i didn't realise how protective i would be,i immediatly(sp??sorry,v tired!!) defended my choice, and then stapped back and thought, hang on,i don't need to do this,it's none of their darn business!!
is this it now??am i going to be questioned on a regular basis?i don't know when i'll top,he's 10months tomorrow for g##sake!!not ten years!!
i know i'm going to start to get annoyed, what do i say to politely shut them up???
this is so new to me,it took the wind out of me

Good grief! Someone hassling you about BF a 10-month-old baby! How rdiculous. I like the response to that question...."oh, for another 5 minutes or so." :) I would then seriously tell the person that I'm planning on BF until my baby is at least 2, God willing, and thank you for asking.

when asked this question, i get a genuinly horrified look on my face and say "oh my God, i would NEVER wean my kids before they're at least 2 years old, seeing as how babies don't reach full immunocompetence (immune system maturity) until they're 6." the person usually feels so dumb (b/c they don't know what imunocompetence is) and you appear so much smarter, that they never say anything back! i also make it like it's common knowledge, with an attitude of "well, everybody knows that". so what can they say? you should've seen the looks i got when i'd nurse my 2 yr. old while 9 mo pg! :LOL i loved it! (and she's a BIG 2 yo.; tall and 35 lbs!)
