This totally sucks. I was sick all last night and this morning, and got so dehydrated we ended up here on IV fluids. I'm having horrendously painful contractions frequently (every 1-5 mins), and am on a monitor for that. My left leg is twice the size of my right, which is also swollen. We did a few ultrasounds of everything, and are still waiting on the results. My stomach is feeling better, but these darned contractions hurt so bad at times!

Finally I'm cleared for clear liquids! I've been starving allll day.

Okay, I got interrupted - all results came back fine. They're keeping me overnight for observation and will send me home once I'm no longer dehydrated and can eat real food. Yay. Baby look great on the U/S!

Also, the OB here checked my cervix and said I'm not dilated but I'm 80% effaced. He said it seems like I'm having real contractions - possibly due to dehydration, but that I may have my baby sooner rather than later. Hmm.

Well, it's almost 1am. I should get myself to sleep. Gosh I hate contractions!! I think they're getting worse. Owww!!!

oh my gosh keep us posted! hoping the ctx are just related to dehydration, but the uneven swelling would freak me out.

Well, it looks like all is well. 4 bags of fluid, some water & lemonade, and some icky jello have helped slow my ctx down to every 12 mins or so. Doc said to just take it easy, stay hydrated, and hopefully I'll be able to keep her in a couple more weeks.

I'm going to have some breakfast, and if it stays down (I think it will), then I'll be able to go home. I'm still having the squirts but that should clear up soon enough. Baby has been super active (I think because she's hungry) all this time, and we've monitored her heart beat a ton. Everything is good w/her.

When I go home I'm totally going to miss being pampered in the hospital. It is sooo nice here. Best hospital I've ever been to, and I'm super impressed with the labor & delivery dept. Everyone has been so nice.

Thanks for all the well wishes! I'm so glad everything is okay!

Sorry Bananabee It sucks suffering through all those painful contractions. Especially when you have no idea if they are progressing you or not! I hope your baby makes 37 weeks, then she will be pretty safe to make her entrance. My son came along at 37 weeks on the dot and he was as healthy as could be. Some babies are just ready early At least you got a sneak peak at your L&D unit and know they will take good care of you when the time comes.
