I got out all my dipes to strip, because of stinky dipe problem.<br><br>
I washed on hot with a little bit of tide, then washed and washed and washed on hot with nothing. I think I did 8 washes and there were still bubbbles coming out. I finally gave up on that load. Am now doing my seond load of dipes.<br><br>
We have hard water here, is this my problem?<br>
Is there something else I should do? Is there something I can do to prevent problems in the future?<br><br>
Man, I hope my septic tank can handle this...LOL

You could try a water softner.A lot of people strip with Calgon.

Try no soap at all and then 1/2 baking soda and 1/2 vinegar in the wash. This was suggested to me as a way to strip diapers by another mama here. Both are deodorizers and should remove any soap residue.<br><br>
If you have hard water the problem might be you're not using enough detergent and they aren't getting as clean.<br><br>
When you checked for suds did you just lift the lid see a few bubbles and close it again or did you wait a second to see if the bubbles went away? It could have been oxygen bubbles from agitation in the wash and not soap residue <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">.<br><br>

I tried calgon water softener.....<br><br>
So put the baking soda and vinegar in together?<br>
I'll try that in the morning. These have been thru 4 washes and there are tons of bubbles in there. yes, I know its soap. I open the lid, then stick my hand under there to hold the button down so it keeps agitatig while I watch it. There is a thick layer of soap on the top.<br><br>
man this is a pain. When I lived in CA I washed diapers with no weird stuff, didnt have to think about it, and had clean dipes all the time. Even when I had to use alaundry mat and only washed once a week, still never had problems....

i DONT SEE HOW i CAN BE USING TOO- oops sorry caps- much soap, I was only using about 1/4 to 1/3 of the cap. Then I started thinking I asnt using enough to upped it to about 1/2 of the cap.<br><br>
Hopefully this will at least improve it.<br><br>

Cramk upi yuor water heater and give it a little time to heat up before starting your wash load. 1-2 hours.<br>
If yuo can't do this, boil a large pan of water and add it to your wash. The super hot water will do the trick much quicker than regular hot water.<br><br>
If you are not working with micro fleece or plastic snaps, you can boil the diapers on the stove. Also, much quicker and less wasteful than wash after wash.<br>
If dealing with pockets, wash by hand with dawn dish soap, put in the sink in hot water and soap, let soak until water cools, then scrub. Rinse super well in the sink then put through a wash without any detergent.<br>
If you have time to go to wal mart, pick up some RLR. It's in the laundry aisle, hanging from the aisle, in a 2 ball package. Throw one ball in the wash load, works great on diapers (and your whites)<br>
You can also get at walmart in the camping/hunting section. Sportwash, same as sensi clean. Add 1 capfull. This take 1-3 washes.<br><br>

I was rinsing, rinsing, rinsing, rinsing, two days ago. I did notice a difference so I was happy about that. I'm planning to try the sportswash soon.
