I've been trying so hard...and doing, well, ok with getting my leafy greens, fruits and veggies, protein etc. most days. Then, late this afternoon when I was getting hungry for dinner, dh said he wasn't going to be hungry for awhile. I knew I couldn't make it and so what did I eat? Oh, like at least half a stack of Ritz crackers. To make matters worse, DS saw me eating them and so now has had his first taste of Ritz crackers and LOVED them.

We usually don't even have stuff like that in the house, but I inherited them from a friend who was moving cross country and I helped her clean out her pantry. 'Course I COULDN'T just say "no, that's ok, I'll pass on the Ritz crackers."

At least by the time we ate dinner, I was hungry again. I didn't think I would be. Still, every time I eat something dumb like that, it squeezes out something good that I should have eaten that day.

Well, tomorrow is a new day. And most of the Ritz crackers are already gone!

Yeah but think about all that lycopene in the red sauce, beta carotene in the carrot cake, and iron in the beef.

lmao...that Krispy Kreme fact is TOO funny!

I'd been doing well with snacking on fruits and veggies and working out every day, and then DH came home with a CASE of Klondike Bars, and a CASE of the new Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream cones. I'm still working out, but I have ice cream about once every other day now.

*sigh* At least I'm drinking tons of water and taking my prenatal vitamins..that balances it all out, right?

I did have quite a bit of water to wash down the sweet taste... that's good for me too!

Um yeah, you all are doing MUCH better than I, as I sit here snacking on my Hot Tamales candies (yum!) I'm trying to eat veggies everyday but sometimes the smells are just too much (carrots smelling rancid when they aren't.)

MMM, Ritz crackers are yummy!! We don't normally buy them either, but they have such a light, buttery taste~
Well, we are having the crappy dinner tongight---frozen fish sticks & organic frozen french fries...

Everything balances out!! Just blame it on the hormones

I am sitting here reading this while eating peanut butter off of a spoon! It has some protein!
I have not been doing as well as I should have, I seriously hate most veggies and fruits right now. The only one I like right now is tomatoes and peppers, which is fortunate since I have a garden full of them! So I've been eating lots of those, but not much else. Salad makes me retch right now, though in the past it goes away right after 12 weeks so hopefully I can get some healthier eating in after next week!

They did a study, in Finland I think, that showed that the more chocolate a pregnant mom ate, the happier her baby was! So, BRING IT ON!!!

But apple crisp is fruit and oatmeal!! How wrong can you go with that?? And remember that chocolate chip cookies contain chocolate which has been shown to make happier babies (I should look for a link to that article sometime). You can always put a little whole wheat flour or flax meal in them just so they are "healthy"... how about walnuts, they have a lot of Omega 3's!!

Now if I could just figure out how to make potato chips and onion dip healthy... LOL

None of this sounds particularly bad to me. Last night we took a cooking class on the classic dishes of Rome - and of course you eat it all once you cook it. It was FANTASTIC, but I need to be on food detox right now.

And, I think an article on chocolate and happy babies was in the New York Times.
