Today I ended up in Patient First due to (intemittant) sharp pain in my lower right abdomen. I have been having a dull pain in that general area for about a week, and I thought perhaps my first PP AF was impending. Nothing. But today I had this really strong pain in my lower right side, near the top of my thigh. It woke me up and brought me darn near tears. I took some tylenol but that did not relieve the pain, just help me feel .

After going to patient first, all I know is that tylenol took the edge off. They said it's not appendicitis and I'm not pg. , and there's no swollen lymph node there. I was sent home, told to eat light and take some more tylenol, call me in the am type deal. I was prescribed meds (pain killers of some sort- didn't even have them waste the ink lol) I can't take because I'm ebf'ing my 5 mth old.

I don't have pain when I pee. I do during and after sex, always have. Um... don't know what else... I have a paragard that was put in place around this past Christmas. And I was told I had follicles on one (both?) of my ovaries. U

So I guess I'm looking for any ideas about what it could be. TIA.

Oh! That's exactly what I was experiencing yesterday and the night before! I was starting to worry about this random pain, but it went away after i had a BM.

your appendix is in that region, at the beginning of your ascending colon, also your right ovary is near there. also, you can herniate in the groin area, happened to my sister during her last pregnancy.

so, it could be :
something to do with your colon/end of your small intestine in that area. how are your BM? Are you often constipated or do you binge eat?

you could have cysts in your right ovary

you could have herniated something in your groin area

pain from appendicitis typically begins in the middle of your stomach near the belly button and moves down to the are you're talking about. not sure why.
If you take pain med you'll not be able to track the pain and really get a good idea of what you're dealing with. I wouldn't do it until you begin treatment for something.

Your symptoms sound exactly like what I experienced with a kidney stone and subsequent kidney infection. I had no pain when I urinated, except for when the stone passed. The ER docs actually were convinced it was my appendix after ruling out an ectopic pregnancy, and were suprised when a kidney stone stone showed up on the CAT scan.

My bms have been normal, and my diet is pretty good (I have a sweet tooth!). I eat a lot of fruit n stuff- I definitely am not lacking in fiber lol. Since its gone on for several days and its really intense I don't think its mittelschmerz (sp?).

That really reminds me of when I had my hernia. It was only slightly swollen so it was hard to see - I could only see it bulge a little when I was standing up in the shower. When I went to the dr. she couldn't see it at all while I was laying down, she had to have me stand up.

She took a "wait and see" approach (which is why I love her!) and in a few weeks the pain went away.

I doubt it's your appendix, btw. That sort of pain is generally a little higher up.

My dh went to 2 different doctors complaining of pain in that area. Both said it was not appendicitis. Even the docs in the ER the next day said it wasn't appendicitis, even after the CT scan they weren't sure it was appendicitis. Then it ruptured and they still weren't sure. In fact, they weren't sure until they opened him up.

Not trying to scare you but be persistent and if you feel it's something serious don't let them dismiss you.

TY ladies. Since it's happened for 3 out of the last four days, I made an appointment for with my midwife, who inserted my IUD a few months ago. I don't think (ok I hope) it's nothing to do with my IUD but I liked them and I don't have any other dr to go to anymore. Hopefully we can figure it out. I guess I'll update soon.

I've heard of this happening as well. I also urge you to be persistent.
I wish you well!
