My brother is a single guy of 22 years old. He found out about 2 weeks ago that he is going to be a father. In the midst of his rapidly and unexpectedly changing life, one of the first things he said to me after finding out is, "well, I guess your going to be needing to make me a bunch of diapers." He never even considered not using cloth!
WOW! I thought I was going to have to convince him, but no convincing needed. I'm just so proud of him and I had to share!

It would bring a tear to my eye if anyone in my family decided to CD!!!

my brother and sil bought me a bunch of sposies when I found out I was expecting. I think their feelings where hurt when they found out I cd'd.....I could tell they were wondering where they went.....ouch.
I said i use them for nights just to make them feel better.

That is so awesome! We were out in Seattle for my 22-year-old brother's wedding a few weeks back and his bride-to-be (now wife) LOVED Aubrey's cloth dipes that I brought along. They don't plan on kids yet as they are my brother is still in school, but when they do, they both said they would call me up so I could help them figure out what to buy for cloth!

How awesome!! I am *hoping* it will be like that when my brothers have kids (not for a looong time though, they're only almost 21 and almost 18!). I'm hoping that since they've seen me cd that it will just rub off on them ... of course, I'm sure my mom would be offering to buy them all the sposies they would ever need, since she thinks I'm a big freak using cloth!

My brother probably doesn't know disposables even exist. He isn't around many babies and my DD is probably the only one he has been around enough to see a diaper change. I'm sure if he ever gets married and has kids though his wife will know about them and I will have to convince her.

Yeah, I was really surprised. I've been sewing diapers for close to a year now, and my brother is very business minded and has been trying like crazy to get me to go into business with my dipes. He says that whenever I'm ready, he'll help me. I keep telling him that it's really a lot of work and I've got enough on my plate right now. Anyway, even though he's been such an advocate in that way, I thought it was more money-focused. He's so prissy. His clothes have to be name brand and just right. He'll spend tons of money on a shirt b/c he's got to have it. He spends more time on his hair than me and gets grossed out pretty easy. We all (including himself) call him a metrosexual; that's pretty much what he is.
So, I just never expected him to use cloth on his kiddos. My mom thought it was awful at first and every time dd got a rash she told me I should just switch back. She gave up after awhile and now enjoys seeing Scheeli's new diapers, but I don't think she would cloth diaper if she ended up raising a newborn today. I don't think she would try to convince my brother not to cloth diaper though. She's become pretty accepting of it now. Anyway, I just thought it was so cool.
