So I've felt plenty thirsty lately.. moreso than when not pregnant, but not to any abnormal extent. But today.. GEEZ! All of a sudden its like I've been wandering the desert for weeks. All day, I have not been able to drink enough water! And its increased as the day goes on. Its to the point where for the last few hours, I've been thirsty but unable to drink as much as I'd like because my stomach is too full.. of water! And so as soon as there's more room, I drink more water. I can't even begin to tell you how many glasses I've had today but I've been chugging tall glasses 2 at a time alllll day. This can't be normal!? I haven't been peeing much extra to compensate either, so I'm sure I'm going to be super swollen tomorrow.

I'm like that too.
I drink SOOOO much water most the time. I easily drink close to a gallon or more some days.
And its like I can't help it I feel so parched...
I've actually started using quart containers you get from chinese food as my drinking glasses at work so I don't have to get up so much to refill. At home I refill 1 liter bottles. I already have gone through a liter this morning and amout to go fill up a quart.
Its insane.
Are you peeing like 39204929343920 million times a night as I am because of all the water?

Try a little gatorade too.. Sometimes water just isn't enough. I get crazy thirsty at night, I have to bring a big glass of ice water up to bed before I lay down...Then of course I'm up all night peeing.

Yep. The Sahara has moved to my house. I drink vitamin water and a few other electrolyte drinks along with water and the occasional cup of tea (I know, not thirst quenching, but yummy!). I'm just glad to be hydrated.

Hmm. I never considered that plain water just might not be enough. I think I'll try a home made electrolyte drink because when I drink gatorade, my teeth hurt like crazy for weeks!

Only thing with drinking Gatorade and the other flavored beverages, if they often have a lot of sodium in them.
And if your feet are swelling or anything like that it might make it worse.
I know I have to be careful of what I drink and eat or else I swell even worse.

The recipe I want to try only has 1/4 tsp salt. I just dug up my pregnancy folder from my last pregnancy because I remembered that that midwife included electrolyte recipes in it.

1/3 C lemon juice
1/4 t salt
1/3 C honey
1 T calcium
1-2 quarts water

the calcium ingredient would have had me scratching my head going "wtf?" but my mom actually just got me a powdered cal/mag supp, so thats easy.
