However I have to agree with the PP - Why only $5, the PR thing, & gold mining involves a lot of child labor typically. I think that its awesome that MarieClaire is bringing this to attention of 'modern' women, and that a lot of them will read the magazine and buy a locket. $5 is still $5 for food, and I doubt that starving women with her babies will care where it came from. I think the only GREAT thing that could come of this is some women read, buy a locket, do more research and decide to help even more monetarily or with their time. I suspect though, most women will buy a locket and write it off as their good deed for the year ): |
