This wasn't well thought out at all for my first. Now in hindsight, I really wish I had. I had a homebirth and was in so much pain I ended up nude. Now, I'm planning on having some of my siblings present, so I do want to be a little more covered up

Anywhose, I'm thinking along the lines of something that is just one piece, a top...with lots of room and will be easy to breast feed from.

Any of you ladies have any experience with this?

What do you think of something like this? I really like the pink - so cute!

Huh, haven't thought about it much. Probably a big old t-shirt, possibly socks if my feet are cold, and nothing else obviously. Or naked if I'm hot.
As for most of labor I was planning on just being in my normal at-home clothes: sweats and t-shirt. I don't plan on allowing many if any cervical checks so the pants won't be a problem. Comfort will be winning for me, whatever that happens to mean at the time.

I never even thought about this last time until it happened. I just ended up laboring in what I was wearing at the time, one of DH's old, big t-shirts. Worked for me. I suppose this time I'll do the same.

I like the idea of that dress since hospital gowns suck. But I'd be fussing with that halter continuously and I think it's split up the back?

I think I'll just wear whatever is comfy on whatever shape bod I've got in labor (or nothing at all).

shirt the first time...
naked the second time....
I wore a sports bra last time.... but I did't think of changing it before I got in the water... so my pics have a worn out wet white sports bra....

I am planning on having another waterbirth but will make sure it is black this time... lol

Last time I labored in a comfy pair of sweats and a tank top. When birthing time came, the pants came off and the tank top stayed on. I will probably do this same this time - I was very comfy.

I had a couple pairs of gym shorts I bought with the intention of sitting in the birth pool in, but that never happened. Maybe this time.

The dress is really adorable, but I can't see paying $98 for it. I like the binsi skirts as well... I'll have to see when it gets closer to that time. Right now I just have no clue. If I'm at home, I don't think I'll mind being naked, but if I go to a birthing center I think I would want some coverage.

Hmmm... I actually have not even thought about it!!! I think maybe a tank top/sports bra and possibly one of those swimsuit skirts. I have a MAJOR problem with my butt... stupid, I know, but I do. I'm afraid that if I wanted to birth on hands and knees I'd want coverage at least a bit. Buuuuttt... we shall see. There is no telling how I will feel in the moment.

I liked what I wore last time, and will do something similar. I had a long shirt/dress that was tube-top material in the bust and full in the body. It was perfect if i needed to pull it down for nursing, and it served as a great cover-up while laboring.

I'm looking at something like this.
http://www.babybeminematernity.com/s...x.php?cPath=25

Since I knwo that I am going to be having a c-section and I know that I am going to be in the hospital for at least 2 days I may try to make some myself instead of buying multiple ones at $45 a pop. I always feel so dirty sitting in the hospital gowns.

my bff and i have a big ratty old shirt that we trade back and forth and labor in with all of our kids. (its seen 6 labors so far and going to see 2 more this year!!)

i always wind up taking it off to birth. last time i birthed in the water. so i birthed nude. i was planning on a home water birth this time and may have more than just my kids and bf there (not sure yet) so maybe i'll wear a bikini top under the shirt while i birth and can take it off to get in the water, then be in just a bikini top. then when i'm ready to nurse, as i do so often at the beach, just slide the bikini top over.

its kind of funny. i'd get one of those dresses. but i might feel ridiculous wearing it...
