I know there was a thread about Father's Day meals a week or so ago, but what did everyone decide on?

My DP wants lobster, which isn't my favorite food (I know, I'm a cheap date
) so he'll have that and I'll just have the side dishes (corn on the cob, pasta salad, fruit salad), or maybe make myself a hamburger or a chicken breast.

For dessert, I'm going to make chocolate-hazelnut bars.

I want to make him a special breakfast as well -- maybe popovers, maybe buttermilk pancakes or waffles.

What's everyone else doing?

Indian food. A whole lot of it. :LOL
So far i'm thinking
subji
rice with black mustard seeds
red dal
a smooth pureed HOT yam curry
raita
pakoras
tamarind or tomato chutney
Mabye mabye mabye roasted garlic naan if i'm feeling up to it after all of that cooking. :LOL

And for desert...
Carmel fondue.
Don't know what we will be dipping in the carmel fondue yet.. Any ideas?
I was thinking of making brownies, a tiny cheesecake and strawberries. but I've never had carmel fondue so i'm nervous.

Apples!
poundcake
pretzels
shortbread or ladyfingers
bananas

Sounds yummy. I've never heard of a caramel fondue, but I bet it'll be good. Enjoy!

We're having a somewhat unhealthy dinner, but it's what Dh and my dad want!

Grilled rib eyes
Mashed Potatoes
Grilled Asparagus, Squash and Brocolli (marinated in orange & balsamic)
A nice big salad
and chocolate cake with fresh raspberries for dessert

Dh wants waffles and bacon. I haven't allowed the family to eat bacon in months and months. I figure I can go to the market in the morning and get some good, lean organic bacon and we can compromise. Whole grain barley waffles with maple syrup and a big fruit salad.
