I am already praying for the poor souls in Beirut. Israel has been dropping the most enormous bombs, way bigger than any rockets Hizbollah might have, on civilian areas in Beirut, including parts of the cities where the Christians are.

The bombs are so big that a NZ TV reporter was saying he was jolted awake at night, as if a door was slammed right next to his head, even though he was kilometres away from the blasts.

We have a friend who came back last week. He has been through the civil war Israeli invasions etc. and he said he has *never* experienced such powerful bombs.

No one is making jokes about Beirut being bombed. Why are there jokes about Tel Aviv? Doesn't seem funny to me.

And, in case you hadn't noticed it, hundreds of rockets are hitting cities in the north of Israel daily. It's not like Tel Aviv is the only place in Israel. Tzfat has great religious significance to Jews, and it's getting whomped. Haifa is hit daily, and it's Israel's third largest city and is the city with its largest Arab population, both Muslim and Christian. Nazareth has also been hit repeatedly, and while the Christian population is not a majority, it is an important city to Christians (just pointing that out since Aquaduct thinks that's a particularly important issue, bombing Christians).

So why is this suddenly something to joke about if Tel Aviv is hit?

Sorry. A little sensitive, I know.

I'm so sorry if it came off offensive. My original post/question was an honest question....It just seems militarily speaking if Tel Aviv gets hit, then the war could pull in other countries (not that it already hasnt) but my greatest fear is ww3 and it just doesnt seem too far off at this point....

A quote comes to mind......

Because Arab lives are the only ones that matter. How DARE you belittle the dead, wounded and homeless HUMAN BEINGS on the other side. I am APPALLED. I would never write about praying only for one group. and I would never do it. Your post makes me sick. I cannot believe you are on MDC.
