Could someone please explain to be the basics about soaking seeds ? I have been reading confusing information, so I don't really get it.
I have read not to soak more than 2 hours, and I have read to soak up to 48 hours - who is right ??
I have read that not all types of seeds should be soaked - which ones, and why not ??
I have read that it helps to add solutions into the water - but that idea doesn't seem very natural to me.
Any help would be appreciated

I have read that not all seeds need soaking. My reference book says to soak Green beans (pole or bush varieties) 2 to 4 hours, while it only references planting soaked cucumber seeds, summer or winter squash. It says to soak parsley seeds 24 hours prior to starting seeds indoors (since it takes a long while to germinate).

I hope that helps!
