I'd like to try my hand at knitting some. Does anyone know of a easy pattern for a novice to get her feet (lol) wet with?

I love this site. I've been knitting for 15 years, but just started making socks a few months ago - now I'm addicted!!! My first couple socks didn't look so great, but now I've got the hang of it. Have fun!

I want to make big puffy socks for sleeping in winter. Is that the same?

I was just thinking I'd like to try my hand at knitting socks. I'm going to be making Clessidra. I'm not sure if it's a good first sock attempt but I love the pattern.

Do you all prefer top down or bottom up sock construction? Advantages? Disadvantages to each? TIA!

I've only done top down on dps so far and it's very easy once you get the hang of it. I plan to try making socks toe up on two circular needles next time.
