This morning I noticed a soft raised spot on dd's head. She is almost four months old. The bump is directly on top. It feels almost like fluid that is right under the skin. I don't think it is a fontnal (sp) It is really worrying me. I called the doctor this am, only talked to the on-call dr, he wasn't very worried, but he also said that he can't say because he hasn't seen it. He said to call our ped tomorrow morning. I plan on calling the dr first thing, but it would be nice if I could hear from some other mamas to not worry. Surely there must be a simple explanation, right.

My dd developed several bumps on her head, similar to what you're describing. Her ped. was baffled and after seeing a couple of specialists and having an MRI done <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> we finally went to a dermatologist, where they diagnosed her w/ pilar cysts, which are pretty harmless. Also, depending on the location, it could also be a swollen lymph node.

Grrr, just talked to her ped and he is not seeing her until wed. He had no idea what it could be yet is waiting until wed to see her. I am trying to not get to upset but it is my kids head! If it was her elbow I would undersand, but this is her head. Meanwhile I have all kinds of terrible thoughts floating around in my head. I guess I will have to relax and wait, or go to the ER. She seems ok, nothing really different in her mood. I am not a fan of doctors.

Did you express how concerned you are? I think you should be seen if YOU think it's necessary. Whatever ya do don't google it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink"> I'm serious though every time I google something I have an anxiety attack and so far over nothing. I call it the 'scare net' during those times. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
I bet your dd is okay but I don't think you should have to wait to find that out. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">
