I've not used them myself but I've read from others that have liked them, both the dog and cat versions.

I did read from one woman though who thought her dog had a major problem with it's leg. Turns out she attached the softpaw wrong and the dog felt like it had a pebble in it's foot

I have softclaws on two cats right now, and love them. My sister is living with us for a while and her cat was destroying our new carpet, put soft claws on him over a week ago. He adjusted right away. I just put them on my cat this afternoon because he just started clawing the carpet as well. Very easy to put on, I wish I had bought them sooner.

They are certainly worth a try--but be sure you also have plenty of "approved" places for your cat(s) to scratch: posts and pads in different rooms, made of different materials. Set your cat up for success, not failure.
