I just bought this new a couple weeks ago. I did wash it once (in cold, gentle, air dried) as the instructions indicated to do so b/c it could bleed on clothes. Only tried it on around the house for a short while. I like it, but think I need a toddler Patapum after all and obviously can't return it once I've washed it and thrown away the packaging.

I believe so. I just bought it from ATB and she listed it as new version with mesh hood. I'm not familiar with the old version though.

eta: I just gave my more lengthy answer on TBW. I'm not sure how it can be rolled up at the waist though.
