So I have a problem. Ds' butt is huuuge under his clothes. I think to myself today, "How on earth will I ever be able to convince people cloth is cool, when his butt is almost as big as mine (question mark--key doesn't work)"

I know el bee would of course solve my problem, but I need something at least sort of available, and the dipe needs to be closer to ten dollars and the wool has to be closer to 15-20.

Please tell me there is hope with expensive taste....and nothing to back it up.

I forgot to add that I have heavy wetters so I need two layers of wool. I am thinking two layer wool jersey and a diaper that is at least sorta narrow in the crotch.

If you're looking for fitted I'd recommend Sugarplum Baby. I love her diapers.

How about fuzzibunz? They're not bulky and you can stuff them accordingly. The only problem is that they don't come in cute prints.

I was going to also suggest Lucy's Hope Chest AIO but I'm not sure about them being too good for a heavy wetter. I tend to make sure I change ds more often when he's in those. But they are beautiful and they are trim! Not to mention well priced and always available to order (she takes custom orders, don't look for instock). They're also my favorite to put on him when we're out because inevitably someone notices his cute diapers sticking out from his pants and the cd conversation begins.

If you're lucky, you may come across the fuzzi bunz bug prints (not the reverse bugs)...and sometime this month, there is going to be a frog print.

Well, I forgot to mention I don't want to do synthetic, though I have been thinking of getting a couple LHC AIOs for out and about, since those are available with at least cotton next to the baby.

Sugapeas wool flannel is super bulky for us, but maybe the jersey is better. I have never been keen on any of the wool choices, so that is why I have never tried.

I will go look at SPB. Thanks!

Anymore suggestions are more than welcome!

I did not find my LHC AIO to be good for my super soakers. They are so cute, so I hated that I could not get much use out of them. My berry patch fitteds are nice and trim. Maybe try to get some used Fireflys. They are super trim.

Hmmm, I've not yet tried it but what about a Joey Bunz, or similar hemp insert, or two in a tight fitting wool wrap like Nikkys, Nijis, or Bumpys? Both of those things are readily available and in your budget. I think that would be super trim, but if your baby is still in the explosive bf poo stage, your covers might get dirty.

If you're looking for fitteds... http://www.pipsqueakdiapers.com

She might not have what you want listed, but if you email her, she will get right on it! She's awesome!

I also ordered a bunch of Loveybums: http://www.loveybums.com

I haven't used the loveybums, so I don't know about trim.... but my Pipsqueaks are SO trim! Yet SOOOOO absorbent!

My sister (the anti-cloth queen... she hates my cloth.... doesn't even think they are cute, GASP!!) thought I had Libby in a sposie the other day... nope, just had a Pipsqueak (WITH the snap in liner, so I think that's 6 or 8 layers of hemp??) with a Motherease cover.... she had cute little shorts on and that was my trimmest combo!

Loveybums is really quite trim for a cover. The doubler layer unfelted merino jersey from sugarpeas, however, is the trimmest wool I have seen. As far as diapers go...my premium cpfs, not ipfs, are pretty trim.
Trimmer than some of the fitteds I have seen but not used, LOL.
I have one sampler 4x6x4 CPF, and it is soooo trim!

How about a WIO? Fitteds and covers are just bulky (unless it's an El Bee, of course). I have a SUPER trim WIO from Hidden Pearl Creations, and also a very trim WIO from Luxe Baby. I think both will be open for orders soon (hopefully!). Righteous Baby WIOs are also pretty trim, they can be found sometimes on ebay, and probably if you put an ISO post on the TP. I also found that trifolding an infant prefold into a wool cover is very trim. HTH!

Sugar Plum Baby is supposedly very trim and readily available. Your price range, too. My trimmest wool is a fluffymail nb wool (which fits over smalls), but that's not easy to get. The material, however, is two layers of lightweight wool jersey. I also have a 2-layer midweight cover (not fluffymail) and that's MUCH bulkier. So I'd look for lightweight.

Hmmm.
Thank you so much for the help! I think that if I can find some good, affordable WIO, that would be the way to go.

I'll check the other places, too!

Of course, any more suggestions would be faboo!

I've found its gotten harder as she gets older. Now she's wetting more heavily - probably more volume in one pee I guess - more bulk is needed in the diaper. I've had to upsize her clothes and take the legs up of all the pants I've bought, and Im a trim diaper freak. I hate bulk. I've avoided fitted's and separate covers because I've thought there's just no way I'll find one trim enough, although having looked at a lot of pics on this site, I think I buy too big. I think Eliza at 19lb could be in small almost everything still, but I dont buy small because I dont think I'll get long enough wear to get my money's worth.

I've recently gotten a heap of hemp contours from Lucy's Hope Chest. They are wonderful for under clothes. I do need a doubler with these, but they are super trim. You need a very snug cover to work with them though - she mentioned on her site large Bumkins or medium Bummis, but I find both these too big to work properly. I was actually thinking about buying one or two small wool covers to use with them, rather than medium which is what I'd normally buy.

Like you, I'd really like to find wool trim enough to use under clothing. My hubby and I were commenting the other day that Eliza is the only one of our three not to have been plagues by bleeding infected diaper rashes. I was going to try a medium Little Lambs wool cover - I really love these covers. But I'll be interested in what others suggest as well.

Its a bit of a trade off though. I just figure if I have to work around the diapers it'll probably only be for another year and a bit, and then she can wear every fashionable item I can find.
