Dh was laid off from his job about six weeks ago and is looking for work. I work part-time at a job that I hate but has good flexibility and is relatively understanding about dd's needs. We are trying to figure out how to make sure we make enough money to support our family while factoring in dd's needs. I mean, she can't exactly go to daycare, and I have so very few people that I trust to watch her. Plus, summer is coming, and I have no idea how we'll manage to put together care for all three kids -- it would almost be easier if dh wasn't working, but then I'd have to get a full-time job so one of us would have benefits, and it just kills me to think that dd will be sick or in the hospital or something, and I won't be able to be there for her. : I probably have more earning power than dh (he has no college education and no real skilled background), but he has said that he really doesn't want to be the primary caregiver because he's just not comfortable handling all the medical stuff.

I keep thinking that eventually we'll find some even keel, that dd's stuff will just hit some nice stable place and we can PLAN ahead for a change, but it just never happens. There's always some surgery or school thing or one of the millions of dr. appts. How the heck do people do this??!?
