something besides synthroid for thyroid condition

I read on here awile ago (searched and couldn't find it) about a different medication for thyroid problems besides synthroid... it didn't work for a lot of you and isn't working for dh. I wanted to give him the name to take to his Dr. tomorrow morning! Thanks
