Definitely get her to the doctor or ER if necessary ASAP. She may have osteomyelitis, an infection of the bone, or some other infection.

I had osteomyelitis when I was 6, and the only symptoms I had leading up to it were pain in my foot and an increasing inability to walk. The normal mode of getting it is when the skin is broken or there's surgery or something so that germs can enter the body. I was in the hospital on IV antibiotics for a month, and in a wheelchair for 2 weeks after that. Of course, this was 1975, so treatment may be faster now, I don't know.

This is all to say that your story rang my alarm bells because it sounds so much like my osteomyelitis. Please, please, take her to the doctor or the ER right away.
