My DH is a SAHD and does most of the laundry. Usually he does pretty well only occasionally shrinking something of mine :. I do the dipes most of the time but he has done them before with no real problem (well, he can't match up the parts too well). We got a new Kenmore Elite HE3 this weekend. I washed dipes tues. in it and it was great . Today he did the laundry and the last load he decided to put things he had forgotten in together with the towels (navy and dark mauve) this included the dipes and DS2's blanket and Kate's pale yellow towel. Apparently since he put in the dipes he washed on hot . As you can imagine everything including the dipes is pale blue and he didn't notice this and dried it all! I have it all rewashing on hot with oxyclean, hope it comes out. It could have at least been the burgundy towels so everything turned pink for DD. The proraps (which I don't like anyway) and bummis covers were the worst. There were also CPFs, a darling diapers fitted, a couple of HHs and joeybuns. I told him this means I get to shop! Ya gotta the guy for trying but I am getting some serious diaper buying mileage out of this!

OH no! I'm so sorry for the laundry disaster! I hope the OxyClean works! But hey - if not then it's a great excuse to shop!

2 washes with oxyclean and the covers and the aplix on the HH are still blue as is the natural hemp darling diaper fitted. The other things look pretty good. SO I went to Fluffy Mail and bought 2 fitteds. I still need to do something about the covers so more shopping. Does anyone have any suggestions to get the blue out though? I thought about the Rit color remover but wasn't sure if I could use it in a front loader since the directions call to dissolve it in the filled washer before adding the clothing. I guess I could go over to my mom's and use her washer. Seriously, even though it's a good excuse to shop I'd like to salvage the others esp. the darling diapers fitted. Of course they're all still usable just not too pretty. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Oh goodness.. at least he's willing to do laundry.. my husband won't touch it. But I think it's because he fears for his life more than that he fears laundry One option is to get some dye and dye the diapers that are still blue.... just be sure it's the kind with soda ash .. not something like rit.. it'll runnnnnnnnn. Or, your other option is to just keep washing. Us the diaper(s).. and wash like normal and eventually the blue will fade and disappear. I had some prefolds and kissaluvs that ended up purple, and , althought it took awhile, you'd never know it now. I've never tried the color remover, but I did try bleach... didn't work..and sunning only works on "natural" stains unless you want to leave them out there for a few weeks . Time and use should do the trick though.
