somewhat affordable cities near greenwich?

Well... depends on what you class as affordable. You can probably find a started home in Stamford for $500K, 3 bedroom ranch on a smallish lot. A condo in Norwalk or Stamford can be found for $300's.
How far is your DH willing to drive? The schools in Fairfield County are good over all with some towns being better than others but the real estate is more $$$$.

we live in Trumbull,25 mins from Greenwich in no traffic.the last town in Fairfield county.the schools are reknowned (sp??) for being excellent and the house are a mix of prices.you can get one for 350k upto $$$$ in fact we are moving back to NY as dh jobs haas taken him back and i am sad as the schools are so great and the community.we also have great family parks for the summer,about 4 or 5 all with pools and sprinklers.there is also waldorf and montessori close by.they are building a whole foods and a wild oats about tens mins away in the spring.
