This summer I am going to begin our journey to homeschool! My children are 3 and a half and 17 months. We are going to be doing a unit about who we are and how our bodies work, naming different parts of the body, saftey, nutrition and so on. Both of my children really enjoy cathy preschool songs and fingerplays does anyone know of any that would go well with my unit I am having a hard time finding free songs or lyrics. Thank you so much!

Your library might have some good resources. Though I can't think of any specific examples at the moment. Sorry to not be of more help. Our library has a parent/educator area specifically with resources just for parents and educators. It's a really awesome area! They also have cd's you can check out and I'm sure they had some with songs/fingerplays for toddlers.

We have several of the Wee Sing cds and song books. One is called Children's songs and finger plays. They may have that at the library.

I also found a great book at a local Job Lot (discount store) called Playful Learning, Stories and FInger Plays from McGraw Hill Children's Publishing. It's a fantastic book especially since I got it for $1.99.

I also like Totline Publications Preschool Theme Calendar which includes songs and finger plays etc for different topics including the ones you plan to cover. Maybe on Ebay you could find it cheaply?

This site has a ton of lyrics, I use it to look up specific songs

This site I use for simple patterns but it may have some things you can use for your topics

Have fun!

Another vote for the Wee Sing series. We have several of them including the Children's Songs and Fingerplays, which both my kids LOVE. They're great for at home or listening to in the car.

I have also found a few books here and there that have lots of great nursery rhymes, songs, fingerplays. I found my books used, so you might check around at your local library, yard sales, etc., never know where you will find a gem.
