Okay, I bought this monitor based on good reviews on here and other websites. I bought it because of promises it would filter out background noise, as I want to use it at work and ds sleeps with a fan as white noise.

It's not working to filter out the fan!

My personal office, where ds naps, is only about 7x9, so I can't get the fan very far away from the monitor.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Yes, mine has that setting as well but it sounds no different from the regular "on" setting as far as fan noise.

Move it as far away from the fan as possible. You should be able to still hear your child's voice/noises over the fan with it on voice activated. Unless you run your fan on high maybe? Try turning down the fan? We have an air purifier that's loud in our bedroom, and we keep the monitor on the other side of the room. I hear every little peep just fine and it filters out the white noise.

Or try switching to a smaller fan?

I love this monitor. It works great for us, but we have pretty big areas too....haven't tried it in a little space so I'm sorry if that's no help.

Argh. Well thanks for the responses. Yes it is a small area and yes I have to run the fan on high so that it makes enough noise to drown out whatever is going on outside my office. Frustrating.

Thank you!
