When I was visiting my sister she bought me some funky yarn that is in my color scheme. I want to make an afgahn/small couch throw out of it. I have cast on a million times but end up frogging it. I have no idea how to do this. I'm too much a newbie!!! Plus the yarn is funky (think that kinky doll hair type stuff...it's not that but similar <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">). *SIGH* I would like to have this for the place we are moving to but at this rate I won't ever get it done. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
Anyone want to knit it for me? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> You can have some wool as an exchange. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">

Oh you poor thing....trying to learn to knit on a yarn like that is tough. I tried to learn to crochet on boucle yarn and, well, I still don't crochet - ended up knitting a blanket instead <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

That's gorgeous! What weight is it? Are the needles you are using big enough? How much do you have? Maybe we could help you find a simple afghan pattern. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

There's an afghan pattern up at knitpicks that's done in squares - like a quilt. It might seems less overwhelming if you were working in pieces (there would then be seaming, but...)<br><br><a href="http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/Projects_Display_Yarn.aspx?itemid=50393220&yarnid=5420121" target="_blank">http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/Pr...yarnid=5420121</a><br><br>
Even if you don't like this, it might be something to consider in terms of how you choose to complete the blanket.<br><br>
