Sophia was born Sunday evening (10/30), 9:20 pm at our MW's home. Labor was 1 hr 15 minutes and she was around 8 lbs.

I had been having prodromal labor for a couple of weeks. On Sunday I finally called in to our MW to tell her about the 4 hours of contractions I'd had that morning. She's 45 minutes away, so we've been worried about getting to her place in time, getting the children settled, etc. She suggested I come in that afternoon and that we try to stimulate labor. She massaged my cervix with EPO and I took Labor Ease once every hour. I was about 4 cm 80% effaced. Dh and I went for walk down to the creek. He did some fishing while we watched the sun set and the geese fly overhead, swans and heron were diving for fish. It was beautiful, so peaceful. Contractions started up again and we headed back for another dose of Labor Ease. We decided to go out for dinner and went to the Japanese Steakhouse for a quiet evening together. The couple across from us asked when the baby was due and we laughingly said, "tonite". At this point it was 7 ish and we were beginning to think that it would at least be another day until Sophia was birthed. We walked alittle after dinner, but it was too painful at that point to go far. We headed back to the MW and I was almost completely effaced. I really wanted to go home and sleep because I was convinced that NOTHING was happening that night. She suggested I rest there and I laid down for 15 minutes. Contractions started to become more regular and intense and after about 3 of them, I had bloddy show and started to "drip". Evidently, my water broke because the intensity really picked up. The MW checked and I was begining to dialate further so I asked to get in the tub. After 5 or 6 contractions and 20 minutes in the tub, I was 8-9 cm. I got out of the tub and into bed and it was time to push. Pushed about 3 times for the head and once for her body. Very easy birth and , of course, she's beautiful! Nursing like a pro. We got to come home after 4 hours and arrived home at 2am, settled in and slept until noon the next day. My milk has come in so gently, no engorgement!
