Hi there, I was out for dinner tonight with a group of great Richmond mamas, and we were wondering if there is interest in a regular thread here for those in the southeastern burbs - the Vancouver thread is great, but it is a busy one and I find it too difficult to keep up, so wondering if there is a smaller group of mamas wanting to connect and possibly plan some local meetups over the Spring and Summer.

Cheers!
I am in Surrey, but I find Vancouver is easier to get to than Richmond or even part of Delta! This city is designed poorly in terms of transportation, that's for sure!!

Hi Darcie! It was great to finally meet you the other day. I actually think I saw you today at the community center in Steveston but Jack was moving at lightning speed towards the elevator so I didn't get a chance to say hi. Lets plan to get together soon. When is the next Holistic moms meeting?

Hi Darcie!

I tried to reply the other night but I lost my post when I tried to send it.: No idea how, but anyhow... yes! to all the aforementioned: get-togethers, support, info-sharing...There are some fun places within short drives to get to: Boundary Bay Regional Park (one of our faves), the Reiffel Bird Sanctuary, a new updated playground at King George Park (with a water park too!!)...or...or....?? Lots of possibilities!!

Hi Brandee,

Yes, it will be fun to meet you two also! (You and your DS that is! ) Is anyone interested in a get-together? Maybe we can check in when the weather warms up/dries out again...? Afternoons work for us, or slightly earlier on Mondays (early dismissal for Ds's school).

Erin- We are at Steveston park on most sunny afternoons, usually after 3pm. There is also a great park at South Arm as well which we frequent, pm me on any day you'd like to meet up We also have to decide on a date for our moms night out this month as well.

Hey Richmond (& close by) Mamas ! I just heard about this thread (thanks, Erin ) & came to check it out. I don't get much time these days to go anywhere but the Vancouver thread I'm subscribed to : .

I'd like to get out with ds to meet up with you now that the weather is getting better. Right after lunch is usually good for us, so we have some time before going to pick up dd at school...or maybe we could do Steveston Park after 3:00 & bring dd as well. She would be pretty upset to hear we went without her since we were supposed to go a couple of weeks ago & it didn't work out.

I'd love to join in on the moms' night out as well - could someone PM me with the details & I'll try to get a sitter?

There, now I'm subscribed, so I'll get e-mail reminders to come here .

Hi Helen, glad you found us I'll definately pm you about moms night out when we have a date, last time we went to O'Hares pub and I think that venue worked well for everyone so long as there isn't a hockey game.

Hi! Glad this thread got bumped, I hadn't seen it before.

We (dh, dd & I) are in North Delta, so both Richmond and Surrey are easy to get to! We're headed out on vacation next Fri, but I will be checking this thread when we get back, for sure.

Yes, I did see you, but you looked like you had your hands full... Funny, the exact same thing happened to me later - I was the one running after Jamie and couldn't say hi to someone else!

Unfortunately Holistic Moms is now defunct :-( Just not enough moms attending, and no one (including me) was willing to continue organizing the meetings. Oh well, this is as good a place as any to organize get-togethers, right?

Sounds like the plans for the next Mom's Night Out are firming up for Thursday, May 17th?

Evenings are generally not good for us; DH's schedule is variable, and I'm too popular around here for bedtime : Something daytime-ish would work though.

I think daytime would be better for us as well, since I'd have to get a sitter to put the kids to bed any evening (dh is still off his feet for at least 5 more weeks ). Maybe we could meet for coffee for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Having said that, I'd still try to work it out for an evening at the pub if someone sets a date .

I'm out for mom's night out as I think we've decided on the 17th I'm up for an afternoon at the park though. How about friday afternoon at Steveston, say after 3pm?

Brandee, I was talking to Sarah yesterday and she felt bad you couldn't attend (since you arranged it and all) and we both felt it should be on Wednesday. She will try and make it anyways and I think that worked for Devina as well? What about Darcie? Wednesday ok?
