I can't find our previous thread, so I'm starting a new one!

Sooo excited to meet at least some of you tomorrow, and I'm also wondering: does anyone still go to the Breastfeeding Cafe in Kennebunk on Tuesdays? I was going to go this week, and wanted to know if I would see anyone from MDC there.

And are there any natural parenting stores around here? I need some diaper inserts and diaper liners, and I hate to pay shipping if I don't have to.

Also, Delilah had put out an offer to meet at the Blue Elephant a while back. it didn't pan out, but it's a really nice cafe, and I was thinking maybe we could have a weekly meetup there, because I need to have some activities or I'll go nuts!

So I will be at the Blue Elephant this Monday at 11 AM, if anyone in the Saco area wants to get together. Hope to see some of you there!

Just a heads up but I think Blue Elephant is closed this Monday, I was over there the other day and I think the sign said they were closed Fri-Mon for a little break. I am not 100% sure but about 80% sure that's what I recall the sign saying.

Mondays is a work/daycare for us but we are available Tuesdays/Thursdays for get togethers. My dd is almost 3.

Hi Shay,
Thanks for the heads-up. I guess we won't be at the Blue Elephant tomorrow. We also had some unexpected houseguests from out of town, so I guess it won't work out in any case. But I would love to maybe have some kind of a weekly meetup for those of us in the Saco/Biddeford/wherever is close by area. Maybe next week, on a Tuesday or Thursday.

Anyone else interested?

this is a sweet mama i know IRL. the site doesn't have items listed but if you're in portland you should def check out the store. it's right smack in the middle of downtown congress (across from ll bean outlet, i believe). i'm sure you could call too to see what kind of dipes she has in stock.

I'm a Portland mama and was going to recommend Butterfly Baby. I like the store...but we're hooked on Fuzzi Bunz and she doesn't carry them.

im gonna keep in mind your meetup days whatever u choose, even though im an hr+ away, my sis lives in standish and i keep meaning to get down there more regularly.

Yes, let's have a weekly meet up at Blue Elephant (well, it's always good to start with once, isn't it!?). I'm heading out of town for a week, but next Thursday sounds good to me. 11ish?

BTW, I was at the grocery store today and saw a cool mom carrying her twins in a sling and said hi. Then, I said, "Hey, any chance you're Liz? from MDC" And it was! So, we got to meet up by chance! I guess slings are a good "clue" that you've found another crunchy mama.

Next Thursday sounds good to me, I will be in-between client work so unless its 100 degrees out meeting sounds like a great idea.

Yes, when the babies are still sling-able its so much easier to identify a fellow crunchy Mama versus with an almost 3 yo, no more outward signs since even though dd still nurses its rare that it is in public. That said, for anyone in the Saco-Biddeford area, if you see a Black woman with dreadlocs and a big haired little girl there is probably a good chance its me, so don't me shy. Especially if there is a baldish white guy with me.

Come on you, you know I am being honest , he is baldish. Yeah, baby girl does indeed have huge hair if its not put up. I try to keep it in ponytails though because it gets wicked tangles and she hates when I have to detangle it.

I'm still alive.

But my clan is sick. Me included. So I most likely won't make it. I AM however interested in Bidd/Saco get togethers post sickness. Gas prices are keeping us close to home.

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is feeling well!
We have been out of town, so we definitely did not make it to the Blue Elephant this past week, but we will be around this week. Did anyone go on Thursday? Did I miss a hugely fun time?

So how about this Thursday? how does elevenish sound?

Looking forward to it!
I know you live near a park so maybe one outing can be planned near you, that way you and the kiddos can come. Sorry to hear you guys are sick but glad to hear from you, I was almost thinking of digging out your number since I hadn't see you around.

No, I didn't make it to the Blue Elephant, I had a pounding headache that morning thanks to my summer insomnia.

hey, mama. talk to me if you'd like to try anything for sleep. it's different for everyone, of course, but even with my history skullcap and (surprisingly) lavender both knock me on my arse when needed. i have some of both on hand so you could "try before you buy", haha.

insomnia sucks, especially when it's humid and gross.

nature, how're you and your clan feelin?

Hi- I did go to Blue Elephant this last Thursday. I had plenty of company (Rueben and Fausto, who own the place), but no MDC'ers. I'll probably make it this Thursday, tho dd is inventing fascinating new sleep patterns (i.e., no patterns!), so it'll be a last minute decision.
