My ds is BF and supplemented with formula. We just received his allergy test results and he is severely allergic to milk, eggs and peanuts. I have cut out all of these foods plus many others in an attempt to cure his eczema over the past 7 months(it started at 2 months and he is now 9 months). His ped. changed our formula to Nutramigen, we did not see any improvement then to Nutramigen AA(Enfamil's elemental formula) and we saw great improvement. Our allergist said that it is not necessary that we use the elemental formula and can do soy formula because he did not test positive for soy allergies but to watch just in case. I am not crazy about using soy formula but we cannot afford the elemental formula ($155.00 for 4 cans). I am willing to use our credit cards to fund this but DH and my entire family think I am crazy to not want to use soy formula. Would you use soy formula?

Yes, and do. Matter of fact, I buy the generic versions. Same thing, better price. FWIW, my son is also allergic to Milk. He is drinking a bottle of it right now as we speak.

My DD had the exact same allergies when she was younger. We switched to the Good Start Soy formula and it made a difference. Although her eczema didn't clear up completely, it did help. What made the most difference for her was sleeping in wet dressings when she had a bad flare up. I felt so bad for her, but the first night we did it was the first time she slept through the night!!

Good luck!
