Anyone know anything about this stuff? It's in everything. We don't buy a lot of packaged products, but sometimes I will want to buy something until I see this ingredient. I just don't know enough about it to feel comfortable consuming it. Especially when everyone says it does not get absorbed like traditional oils, so it's like a diet oil.

As far as I know, it's just like any other vegetable oils. I heard it has high smoking point so it's good for stir-frying. I know margarine is made mostly from soybean oil. (Don't fry with margarine of course.) How is it not like traditional oil?
