The tech at my u/s said the baby's heart rate was 77. In my mind that seems awfully low but when she first announced it she said it was fine and normal. She showed me how she isolated the heart beat on the u/s and then again said it was around 77. I asked if it was indeed normal and okay and she assured me it was. Seems so low to me. Anyone else ever hear of that? I've always heard the little buggers have such fast heart rates for a long time. Has me kind of worried.

I don't know much about heartrates, but I'm curious now, too. We had our ultrasound at 7w2d and the heartrate was 160. I thought it was a little high, but I have no idea, really! Hopefully someone else will come along with some answers!

How many weeks are you? It's very dependent on how far along you are.<br><br>
Here is something I found that explains better then i could <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br><b>"From the date of the last menstrual period, the fetal heart will begin to beat on the 22nd day of development. This means that by the 5th week of pregnancy, the heart is beating. Until week 9, the fetal heart rate will increase 3.3 beats per day. In the early stages, the fetal heart rate is approximately 80-85 beats per minute (bpm). However, by the 9th week your baby's heart beat will be in the range of 155 to 195 beats per minute. Most expectant parents say that the fetal heart rate sounds like the galloping of a horse."</b>

I thought I was 10 weeks at the time of the u/s but the tech said I was 8 weeks. This is my 4th and I don't remember ever hearing the heart beat was that slow...always the opposite, you know? Thanks guys for replying and making me feel a little bit better.
