I can just picture their faces as the reality of "Oh, my (insert diety of choice)! He is really swinging a SWORD at me!" sets in!

WTG! I fully believe in the right to defend your home in any way possible! I just didn't realize there were so many possibilities...

ETA: from the sounds of things, those guys seemed to think they could still overpower him, otherwise I think there would have been less injuries reported. If they had turned and ran after the first strike... but it sounds like they stayed around a while to get beat up some more.

Nice! I tend to agree with the person that said if they had just run away they would have been fine. I don't think you should needlessly hurt people that break into your house, but I'll tell you that if anyone ever sticks around my house after I catch them I will beat them until they dont move anymore.

I wonder if he was in the SCA?

I had a friend in the SCA, stereotypical SCA guy - long, curly hair, pot belly, hairy chest and back. Sleeps in the nude. Lives in an apartment in a so-so neighborhood in a large city. His apartment was broken into one night. He woke up, grabbed a sword and rushed the guy. The robber took one look at a hairy, naked wild-man bearing a sword and screaming, turned tail and RAN.
