Just spent the weekend in the hospital with my 3 1/2 dd hooked up to a Video EEG.

The results are that she is having near constant seizures. Especially while she is sleeping. They say that it is rare to see such a bright, active, developing child with such an EEG readout. They worry that in the next couple years she could start showing signs of speech and development regression.

The good news I guess is that we now know what is going on and she is starting some medication tonight.

I'm exhausted.

Oh my God, poor thing. Did they say why she's having so many seizures? Do you have anyone who can give you some help and let you rest for a little bit to catch up on sleep? Just doing one sleep deprived EEG with my ds took me over a week to recover from sleep wise.

I hope the medication helps. That's so scary.

we had a 24 hr VEEG with Grace when she was 4. In our case, they found nothing, so we still have no answer about her seizures, though hers are very infrequent.

I am glad they found something concrete for you, as scary as it is to know the frequency of her seizures. I hope they find medication that will address and supress them!
