I am ashamed of the number of tall kitchen bags we go through with our rubbish <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment"><br><br>
Does anyone have any suggestions? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/loveeyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Loveeyes">: I hate putting all that plastic into the garbage <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">

I don't have any suggestions on something to use <i>in place of</i> plastic bags, but can you cut down on the number you use? We use about 3 bags a week (a family of 5). We recycle everything possible, and also compost all of our kitchen scraps. Because of recycling and composting our resulting "garbage" is a very small amount.
