Did you go to your prom? and if so, can you please describe your dress.
Yes! At first I wasn't going to go, but then I thought boycotting the prom was cliched. I found this great light blue strappy floor length dress with a lacy overlay on top at a local boutique, and dyed my hair apricot! Looks pretty silly looking back at photos. If I find a prom photo, I'll have to scan it!

Do you come from a small or large family? Brothers or sisters, and if so, how is your r/s with them? I consider it a medium family- I'm the oldest, and have a sister, and two brothers. We all have a really good relationship with one another, but it's hard to stay in touch. My sister lives in Pittsburgh, and my brothers live in NY. One of my brothers is being deployed to Iraq in Jan, unless something changes.

Being an educator, will you home school, public school, or private school your child? Right now we're thinking homeschool. If we move back to NY, I will need to examine the options again- if we can find an awesome charter school, or see something else we like, maybe that. For now, DH and I strongly want to HS.

Is this your first child (sorry, if I forgot!)? That's okay! Second pregnancy, first (please God!) full term baby. I miscarried at 8 weeks in 2000.

What do you picture your baby looking like? I'm not sure! At first I pictured a wild haired baby, but I keep dreaming about baldy babies. Dark eyes, and probably no hair for a while.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? I used to be a total morning person, but this baby has forced me to become a creature of the night!

What is the silliest thing you have ever done? Oh sheesh! I have to list just one? Well, besides accidentally slamming my own head in my car door at the post office in college (I leaned in to grab something I forgot, just as my other hand was slamming the door. It looked pretty ridiculous!), I pulled all kinds of silly stunts as a child. At about age 8, I convinced my little sister one day when we were playing that there was a burglar in the kitchen, and we had to evacuate via the window (one and a half stories off the ground). We were playing dress-up, so we both had on strappy shoes. We eventually realized the error of our ways, and I had to hoist her up to the window (which took ages) and she had to go through where the "burglar" was to unlock the kitchen door and let me in.

What was your favorite toy as a kid? I had a stuffed mouse named "Bitsy" that provided hours of creative fun- I made her a townhouse out of built-in cubbies in my closet, and pounds of paper and any kind of junk I could find!

Are you going to videotape the delivery? We do kind of want to, but we haven't bought a camcorder yet. I'm not sure we're going to get one in time- DH likes to take ages to research this kind of thing.

How did your dh propose since you dated for so long? Did you equally decide, or was it a surprise?
Well, we had been talking about marriage. He was looking for jobs, and some were out of state. We talked about getting married and me following him. I knew he had various interviews here and there, but he made them seem like long shots. On Dec 17th, 2004 I went to his apartment after work to chill and cook dinner. He was acting very manic and strange- he usually is very quiet and laid back (think a smaller-framed Silent Bob from Mall Rats). He was pacing all over, running up and down the stairs, and eventually he got on my last nerve (after teaching preschool all day). So, I told him I needed to run to the store, and headed to Wegmans to get some food. Came home, cooked, and while we were eating, he continued to act bizarre- tapping things, fidgiting, and in general being crazy. Finally he thumped his plate down, rushed over to the tiny 3 foot tall tree we put up, and shoved a little foil-wrapped box in my hands, saying, "You have to open this RIGHT NOW." It was awesome. I opened the box, looked at the ring...

And waited...

And waited...

Then asked, "Is this what I think it is?" He nodded, and I said, "Where are we going?" Turned out to be Illinois! We called our families and told them to prepare for a wedding. Which came five weeks later! We pulled off a pretty awesome wedding in that time, thanks to some friends, and some connections that hooked us up with wholesale flowers and a neat little reception inn.

What is your favorite food that was homemade when you were growing up? Oh man, was there a food I didn't like? Let's see- I really loved Chicken A'la King, but haven't made that myself, ever. Homemade peach pie was another good one.

What's the recipe? I'll post that later! Right now I need to put my feet up before we meet a friend for dinner- this baby's head down and I swear, grinding away at my pubic bone.
