Where did you grow up? Ohio! I've lived here my entire life (and in the same county) expect for my 2nd grade year. We moved to upstate NY to help my step-grandpa on his dairy farm after he hurt his back.

What did you do before becoming a mama? I was in college and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. My DS was born my Jr. of college, then DD my Sr. year. After I graduated, the job market here for teachers w/ my certification is slim and there's a lot of competition. I really wanted to be a sahm and after much discussion with DH, I am!

What is your most/least favorite part of pregnancy? My favorite part is watching my belly grow and feel the baby move inside me. My least favorite part is heartburn and the horrible pubic symphisis (sp?) pain I had with DD.

How did you discover MDC? Maybe it was referred to in the magazine? I don't remember! But I'm so glad I did! :

How did you and your DP meet? We met my Jr. year of HS. I was waiting tables at a local restaurant and he came in with his friend who I knew from school. I waited on them and thought he was SO cute so I flirted a little.

What's your favorite type of candy? Chocolate. I LOVE chocolate!

What's your dream car/house/job? My dream car is one that has enough room for my kids to sit comfortably and room for groceries! My dream house has 3 bedrooms, and 1.5-2 bathrooms. One story or two, with a huge front porch, out in the country with more than the 2 acres we have now. My dream job...I think I'm doing it. I love being a sahm!

What's your dearest hope for your children?? That they will live long, healthy, happy lives and be good, repectful, respectable, moral, humble people.

Thanks, Krystal! This is fun!

I will ask my standard first questions now.

Do you have any boy/girl feelings?

Will you have an u/s to confirm?

Have you got any favorite names in mind for this baby?

Now for a not usual question.

Since my ds has autism, I often wonder why people would choose to learn to teach Early Childhood Education?

Also, is this ECE for the purpose of working with and helping to "diagnose" young children with developmental delays? Or is it just being able to teach from k-5 or whatever?

We honestly don't get out much. We go to Mass every Sunday and that's pretty special for us, and out to lunch afterwards. We take them everywhere with us, except for the dates we go on about 3x a year.

What are you planning for your birth? We're planning our first homebirth with a fantastic lay midwife! Our house is really tiny so I'm not sure what the dynamics will be with the kids. I know that MIL will be coming over to take care of them and I wouldn't mind if they wanted to come in and watch the birth, but I'm not sure.

If you could have one thing go differently this time from the last two what would it be? The last two were natural births at the hospital, so having this one at home is what I'd do differently.

What's your diapering method? We use prefolds w/ bsww during the day and bumGenius! at night and when we go away. DS is still wearing a pull-up at night, though. I tried using the bG's on him but they "made his pee pee hurt" and red.

Where is your favorite place in the world to be when you want to relax and who would take with you if you could be there right now? The bathtub is nice when the kids are asleep, and if it was a little bigger I'd take DH!

I heard a saying recently, "When you're a mother there is no restroom." So true!

Do you have any boy/girl feelings? I'm thinking boy!

Will you have an u/s to confirm? Nope. We've been surprised everytime!

Have you got any favorite names in mind for this baby? If it's a boy he will be Nicholas Gerald (Gerald after FIL) and if it's a girl she will be Hazel Marie (Marie is a very common middle name on both sides of our families).

Now for a not usual question.

Since my ds has autism, I often wonder why people would choose to learn to teach Early Childhood Education? I chose to persue my degree b/c I love working with children. I must say, though, in my experience, I wasn't taught how to teach anything. Does that make sense? We only had 4 methods classes before student teaching. Everything else was different theories on what is thought to work and not work. I think I need to think on how to explain that more...

Also, is this ECE for the purpose of working with and helping to "diagnose" young children with developmental delays? Or is it just being able to teach from k-5 or whatever? My ECE degree is for PreK-3. I'm certified to teach those grade levels. I was issued a 2 year provisional license that will expire May '08 unless I take my PRAXIS III (state test), which won't happen b/c you have to be employed full-time in the area of your expertise. So, if and when I decide to go back to work, I'll most likely just substitue, which probably won't happen until my kids are old enough to be trusted to do their homeschool work a few days a week by themselves. (Holy run on sentence!)

Who were you before having you children? Lindsey instead of "mommy"! I was a little bit of a selfish and impatient person before having kids. THey've definitely changed that in me and I am grateful!

If you could give your children one of your talents/personality traits, what would it be? Haha, can I take away my temper that they've inherited? Do you do your hair/wear make up on a daily basis? If a ponytail or twisted up in a clip counts, then yep! Makeup only if we're going somewhere.

Where do your kids sleep? Gabriel co-slept full time from birth to 22 months. He now starts the night in his twin bed and a few times a week will wake up and come into our bed. Sophia slept in a bassinett next to our bed and/or in our bed for the first 6 months. Then she slept in her crib in our room, and now sleeps in a crib in the room with Gabriel. She's never been really comfortable in bed with us, she really likes her own space so she can scoot all around. (It was kind of hard on me as a mama, thinking she didn't WANT to be in bed with me, but now I realize it's just her personality.)

How has this pg compared to your others so far? Physically, I feel exactly the same. No m/s, just tired. It's going by much faster! I thought Sophia's went by fast b/c I had Gabriel to take care of, but this one is going even faster since I have the two of them. I'm seriously enjoying it though and savoring every moment!
