Is there anything special you do for yourself while you're pregnant (indulge in a nap, pedicure, bubble bath) that you generally don't do when you're not pregnant?
I think I have finally stopped : from the twin news, although I still have days where it still seems so hard to believe. And I think dh has recovered a bit. He's calling everyone he knows, so as freaked out as he is, I think he is a little excited.

What are you most excited about for these babies? This will be my first homebirth, well, I think I have decided to homebirth these babies. So that in itself is way exciting. And just this whole pregnancy in general is exciting. Feeling 2 babies move, and trying to figure out which one is which. It is very special.
What scares you the most? Oh my gosh, where do I start? My second child, my dd, was high needs and just a bugger for the first couple months. I think I ended up crying on the phone to my mother almost everyday. So I am praying that these babies will not drive me over the edge of insanity. Plus, I hate being so sleep deprived. My dd is just finally starting to sleep all the way through the night at 3 years old, I'm not looking forward to another 3 years of this!
Are you/have you enlisted any help for after the birth? I belong to a wonderful Moms group where a friend of mine and I just started a program of help for new moms. So that will give me at least a week of meals if not some other little help. And my cousin says she is going to schedule family to come and help out for a while. I am so thankful that we moved back to our homestate to be close to family!
What is the one baby item you could not live without? Hmmmm. I don't know beyond the usual carseat, diapers, a good nursing bra, etc. I have never had anything I felt I couldn't do without.
Not really, it's generally life as usual. I'm sure if I didn't have a toddler around I would take a nap everyday, but that's not happening these days. One thing may be that I will spend more to eat better and better supplements.

Yes, I guess it will be Minnesota Twins. Neither dh or I are big into baseball, but I'm sure someone will give us something with the team logo on it.

Wow ... twins!... and a toddler! Well, I was just thinking...at 3, my dd isn't really a toddler anymore. I think the technical name is preschooler.
Where is your DH from? So is he!
Where did you meet? We met in Colorado. I picked him up in a bar.

Do you live near either of your families? We just moved back 2 years ago to Minnesota to be closer to both our families. We are 45 min-1 hour away from most of them.
What's the last book you read? Did you love it/would you recommend it? All the books I have read lately have been for my doula training, so they are all mommy/baby/birth books. And most of them are awesome. My favorites are Gentle Birth Choices by Barbara Harper and The Ultimate Guide to Breastfeeding (can't remember the author off hand). And now I am reading Having Twins by Elizabeth Noble. Definitely a must read for those having twins.
Most likely I would have music on and be belting out some melodic tune. My kids don't like it when I sing, so I only get the chance when I'm alone.

Besides freaking out you mean? I am paying way more attention to what I am eating. I generally eat pretty good, but with twins I am supposed to consume massive amounts of protein and over 3000 calories a day. I am not big on stuffing myself, so that has been tricky so far. Plus I actually get on the scale and hope I've gained, which I normally wouldn't do. And the last two days I have lost 2 pounds. Not good.

And I'm going to buy a crib. Didn't plan on that when we were thinking it was one. I figured we would have a bassinet and then end up co-sleeping. We did that with dd and she never slept in her crib. But I thought I might just need a safe place to put these babes and a crib might come in handy.

One more twins question... Are you going to have matching outfits? Just a few?

What is a movie that you watch every time it comes on T.V. no matter that you've seen it countlessly?

Tell us something great your dh does for you.

Do you enjoy cooking or baking?

What is a talent/skill you wish you possessed.

What is an accomplishment, besides your children, that you are beaming proud of?

One more twins question... Are you going to have matching outfits? Just a few? I don't know that I'll do matching outfits, but probably coordinating. Like the same outfit but in a different color. My neice has identical girls and I can never tell them apart. So when they are dressed the same I don't even try.
What is a movie that you watch every time it comes on T.V. no matter that you've seen it countlessly? Oooh, this is hard. I love comedies, especially late 80's/early 90's comedies like Multiplicity or All of Me. Back when movies stars weren't all drop dead gorgeous. Like Steve Martin, or John Candy, or Micheal Keaton.
Tell us something great your dh does for you. He recognizes things that are really important to me. The day I quit my job to start my own business he had roses and a card waiting on the kitchen table. I know he certainly would prefer I was working instead of home with the kids, so we wouldn't be quite so financially strapped, but he doesn't push me to get a job.
Do you enjoy cooking or baking? Oh, it is such a love/hate relationship with cooking. I do enjoy it. I think I have such a hard time with it is because 1) I'm not that good at it 2) I hate the demand of having to make dinner every night and 3) My dh and my son are so picky! Drives me nuts! So I don't get to make things I like that often.
What is a talent/skill you wish you possessed. I would love to have a beautiful voice. I would love to be able to sing.
What is an accomplishment, besides your children, that you are beaming proud of? I guess I would say where I am in life given a rough childhood. I know that's a little vague, but I won't go into exhaustive detail.

I do believe so far that this is the hardest part. I'm nowhere near the recommendations but I just can't stuff any more in!

What's your favorite way to get in protein?

How much have you gained so far?

What are your plans for the birth? Home or hospital? OB or midwife?

What is your dream birth?

What names are you considering?

I do believe so far that this is the hardest part. I'm nowhere near the recommendations but I just can't stuff any more in! Oh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one!
What's your favorite way to get in protein? Hmmm, well I try to make my snacks count as much as I can. So I snack on nuts, cheese or a smoothie with lots of good stuff including a big scoop of protein powder.
How much have you gained so far? Oh, I was so happy, I stepped on the scale last night and I've gained 18 pounds! I was a little worried last week as it seemed I had lost a couple. I generally don't gain a lot with my babies though, and they've been ok. This twin thing is just a whole new arena!
What are your plans for the birth? Home or hospital? OB or midwife? This has been so tricky. When I thought it was one, I was planning a homebirth. But with the news of 2, I had to think a little more. I still think I am going the homebirth route as long as everthing goes according to plan. Otherwise there is a good hospital about an hour away that is pretty good with midwives and nice tubs in all the rooms. I go to talk with the midwife there on Monday to check out their twin procedures.
What is your dream birth? At this point it is at home, at term, no complications, with my birthing team and healthy babies. I have started the Hypnobabies program, so little to no pain would be great also! And of course some nice music, great smells, soothing birth tub, children close by and a husband who doesn't look like he's going to faint and I will be happy.
What names are you considering? Well, I am a little protective of my names, so I can't share. But I will say they are from the bible. I have a Gabriel already and a Sophia (I know that's not in the bible, just loved the name). I prefer names that aren't too common and that are old, from family, or have a good meaning. And then they are getting my father's name and my father-in-laws names for middle names. My father-in-law died in February, so we wanted to honor him, then with 2, we thought we would throw my dad's name in also. They are not neccessarily my favorite names (Francis and Gerard), but hey, you only hear them when you're in trouble, right?
