Shine on snazzymom!

IF someone handed you a $1000, what would you do with it first?

What is your most memorable pregnant moment so far?

At what age, if any, did you get your ears pierced? Any tattoos?

*How would you describe your parenting style?

*What's your greatest hope for your new little one?

1. Get caught up on bills so we don't have to worry when the little one gets here.

2. There have been quite a few memorable moments this pregnancy. I would say when we found out we were having twins and then when we lost one @ 15 weeks. I am really enjoying things now, despite being uncomfortable.

3. This is a good one..lol My first ear piercing experience, I was 7. My mom took me to the mall and I got one done and that was the end of that. I wasn't about to let the lady do the other one. My mom threatened to beat me, told me she'd buy me a Barbie, anything but I wouldn't do it! Finally we left and she took the one earring out and we didn't try that again until I was 12. I let em do both that time and now I have three on each ear and I have one tattoo on my back. It's a Celtic design with a Native American feel to it to celebrate my heritage.

1. Reading a book, hands down!! I love to read but with all the commotion in my house, I never get time unless I lock myself in the bathroom...lol

2. My parenting style, good question. I would like to think that I don't fit into any one particular category here. I spoil my child, I don't spank ( ever) but my Cam is a very well behaved and polite child so I hope that means I am doing something right I try to be as natural as possible but I didn't when he was younger, I will make much more of an effort with this little one. I made the mistake of getting Cam's vaccinations and unknowingly sentenced him to endless hospital and doctor vists, breathing treatments, etc. I finally thought enough to do some research and now know that I will NOT put that poison in another baby.

3. That he is healthy and happy!!

1. I was just talking about this the other day...lol My first cd was the Coneheads sountrack because it had "Tainted Love" on it and it was in a bargain bin.

2. We actually met through MySpace. I was in another relationship when he first emailed me. He was so nice and polite, never once asked me to do anything that would jeopardize that current relationship, but I quit talking to him because I felt it wasn't right. Well, come about a year ago this month, I broke up with the guy that I was dating because he decided he wanted to be a wrestler A guy that smoked 2 packs a day and ate nothing but ramen noodles and hot dogs....I couldn't support that so that ended and oddly enough, about a month later, he posted a message on MySpace and I responded, telling him what had been going on. We made a date for the next week and here we are today

3. The birth of my son is such a hard subject but I want to share in hopes that it will prevent anyone else from going through it. My pregnancy was uneventful until about 35 weeks when they told me his kidneys weren't working properly. I had to go through so many tests just to find out that he was fine. My original "due date" was supposed to be April 1st and I was told that my baby was going to be huge so my doctor told me that I would be induced on April 10th. I never questioned it unfortunately. I was 19 and had only read "What to Expect" and "Your baby week to week" which we all know are full of worst case scenarios. I was admitted to the hospital the night before and I wasn't even dialated. They gave me the Cervidil suppository and had me lay on my side for 2 hours with my hoohah on fire. When they took it out, my contractions started immediately but the nurse didn't have the monitor on right so they weren't registering properly. I didn't have the gradual build up, they started out intense and about 2 minutes apart. Come 7am, I was really feeling it and the nurse came in and told me that they were going to start the Pitocin. I told her that I had been having contractions and didn't feel it was necessary. She informed me that they were going to go ahead and give it to me because they couldn't get ahold of the doctor for him to say otherwise. Needless to say, my contractions got really bad, really quick. They were very strong but kind of erratic. They gave me Stadol once and that knocked me out for an hour but I woke up in 10x more pain. Finally at 5pm, they checked me and I was only at 3 cm. I opted to get the epidural. Within 20 minutes, I was out cold. They woke me [email protected] 7 saying that it was time to push. I couldn't push effectively because of the epidural. After pushing for over an hour, they said that I was going to have a csection. I remember waiting in the hallway for an available OR, trying really hard not to totally lose it. The surgery went ok but after they put me in my room, I got SICK. My fever shot up to 105 in less than 2 hours. They wouldn't let my baby in the room with me and I didn't get to see him after he was born ( only 6lbs3ozs, hardly huge) I never got the chance to hold him, much less nurse him until he was 4 days old. Of course, they had given him a bottle by then and we never really got the chance to breastfeed successfully and that kills me to this day. They never did find the source of the fever and it was determined that I did not have an infection.

Now I know to stand up for myself, know my rights, and fight like hell to make sure my baby's entry into this world is a beautiful thing, not something stressful and cold.
