...You're up! So -

This is your first pregnancy. Is it anything like you expected? Any surprises, worries, etc?

What are your plans for this birth?

I see you work with young children - how on earth do you do that all day when you're in your third trimester?!? (My toddler has me worn out by noon!) Do you plan on going back to work after your baby's born?

How did you meet your DF?

What's the best and worst thing about where you live?

What was the last book you read / movie you saw?

Do you plan on having a large or small family?

Who or what inspires the way you live your life?

What's your favorite way to relax?

So Excited!

This is your first pregnancy. Is it anything like you expected? Any surprises, worries, etc?

Well, it's less... intrusive than I expected... I go for long times during the day when I don't really think about it. I've not been really worried about the baby or looking after a baby (both DF and I have lots of experience with kids through family and work) but I am very worried about GIVING birth. Mostly because I will be in a hospital, which is not my favourite place.

What are your plans for this birth?

Well, we have hired a awonderful doula and will be staying home for most of it and then hpping across the bridge to the hospital and hopefully arrive just in time to push!

I see you work with young children - how on earth do you do that all day when you're in your third trimester?!? (My toddler has me worn out by noon!) Do you plan on going back to work after your baby's born?

I don't know how I do it! My coworker compensates quite a bit for me, she does a lot of the more physical stuff (actually chasing down a kid, or putting out beds, etc) Plus the kids have been great and constantly remind each other "You can't jump on Sarah (or whatever) cuz she has a baby in her tummy" That said, I did just arrange to take the rest of my vacation days one a week, so that I now work a 4 day week. I don't want to go back to work after mat leave (a year here in Canada, so lots of time to think) but may have to depending on DF's job situation.

How did you meet your DF?

We met in residence when I went to college to get my Early Childhood Education Diploma, and kept in touch over five or so years after. When he moved to Halifax we turned into what I've always called "Friends with benefits" and from there into a very fast moving relationship. (when you've known each other that long, it's easy to skip things!) We have been together as a couple for about a year and 4 months!

What's the best and worst thing about where you live?

I hate our apartment, the only good thing about it is that our stuff lives there and that there is lots of storage. Other than that it's a smoky building full of loud people with Superintendants who are useless and I can't wait to move!

What was the last book you read / movie you saw?

I'm usually reading about 5 books at the same time, so I don't know which one you'd consider... the one in my bag right now is called "Anya" and is about a Jewish family in the second world war. My DF was DYING to see the new Fantastic Four movie so we saw that on Sunday night.

Do you plan on having a large or small family?

i'd like a large family, but DF doesn't. We've agreed on two, and I suspect when baby two gets big he'll want a three but that will probably be it!

Who or what inspires the way you live your life?
That's a really hard question.... hmmm... mostly just the philosophy that you want as many people to remember you favourably as possible, but you also don't want to kill yourself doing it!

What's your favorite way to relax?
Zoning out with a book or even just the TV remote
: is my favourite thing in the world. I also enjoy just chatting with DF, or visiting friends!

I LOVE Lindor chocolates... even though I'm not supposed to eat chocolate because of the caffiene...

One thing about yourself not many people know?

What's your favorite place you've traveled?
Describe your ideal day.
How are you prepping yourself for the birth?
What's your favorite place you've traveled?

Well, I've actually traveled a lot, and I think my favourite is still the UK. Espeically the Inverness area of Scotland. It's just so pretty, and calm and peaceful there. It's easy to get intouch with the divine inside, you know?

Describe your ideal day.
I get to sleep in, but not too late. DF makes me breakfast, and then we leisurely get dressed and head out to do something interesting, preferably with other people. Dinner in a restaurant, and I'm still hungry enough to eat when the food gets there, and I have enough room to eat dessert. Then home to watch a movie and the to bed, where I fall straight to sleep.

How are you prepping yourself for the birth?
Well, we're doing birth prep classes with our doula who is trained in Lamaze, (the new lamaze not just the old fashioned patterned breathing). We're also taking the free classes the local hospital provides, mostly for the tour of the facilities in the last two classes. (We get to sit through 4 classes of stuff we already knew before that though.) I spend a lot of time on here, reading about other people's stories and trying to prepare from that. Plus, we talk a lot about things like "Is it ok if I say I hate you while in labour?" and a lot of other what if questions. Now, for all this I'm still terrified of what may happen while in the hospital, but it can't be as bad as my head thinks....

I'm so glad to find other Lindor lovers out there. I makes me happy for some reason!

What do you have in your cd stash?
Well, I have a lot of different things. I have 12 prefolds, 5 covers from a company named Jack and Jill, 9 Fuzzibunz (I expect more at my shower this Sunday) and a lot of random AIO's and fitted's and pockets, which my step-mother bought second hand.

What is your favorite color? Purple and pink. I'm a bit of a girly girl!

Have you guys decided on names for your babe yet?Well, we have picked out three names for a boy and three for a girl, and we'll wait til it's born to decide what to call it! Our names are:
For a boy:
Orion Thomas
Adrian Everitt
Jason Isiah

For a girl:
Alice Matilda
Lucia Hazel Ann (Lucy)
Margaret Lillith (Molly)

What is the question people are asking you that is driving you crazy?

Most of them! Because I work in a daycare I get asked a lot of questions by the parents, and I'm sure they all mean well, but I don' really need to explain why we didn't have an ultrasound to each of them. So I've gotten good at giving really quick answers that discourage further question asking. Like "Nope don't know what it is yet, I need some motivation during labour!"
But now I'm really getting tired of being asked how I'm doing and when I'm leaving. On days when I'm feeling large and everything is difficult, I don't need my "clients" making me feel like I can't do the job anymore!

OK, Do you have pets?

Nope, no pets due to cranky apartment rules. Otherwise we would adopt one of DF's parents 4 cats.

Where do you see your life in 5 years?
This is soooo up in the air right now! Ideally I'd like to see DF in a well paying job he enjoys, me able to stay home and look after other people's children and my own and us owning a house and car and things like that. Where we will have to go to achieve that is the quesiton. The job market in NS is BAD! DF has been job hunting for a year now and found nothing but a few interviews. We're both really frustrated and he hates his job in a call centre. In fact, that job is usually what we fight about. *sigh* Anyway, Hopefully things will get better soon!

Hobbies?
Well, I've just started knitting again, and am trying a ribbed soaker. I love to sing, although that's geting harder the more pergnant I get. I'm a huge reader and read constantly. I've been working my way through "The Baby Book" by Dr. Sears the last few nights.
Awww...Lucy is on our list too.

That's my favourite of all our choices. DF likes Molly better.
