Were you raised in a rural area, small town or big city?

I grew up in a small town in the Sierra Foothills--near the Yuba River, which is where I got my user name.

Where do you live now?
I live in Northern California, about an hour north of San Francisco.

Which one of those would be your ideal for raising your little one?
My hometown would be great to raise a little one in, but where we are now will be too, and it's easier to live here--more job possibliities, for one thing!

Have a favorite movie? Favorite one that makes you laugh? Cry?
Hmmm. It's an older one, but for crying, nothing beats Dead Poets Society. For laughing, I'll take a good romantic comedy any day--"Four Weddings and Funeral" is a great one.

What's your favorite genre for reading?
I'm a voracious reader, so it's hard to pick one. I love literary mysteries, like the Elizabeth George books. I love kids books and young adult fiction, too--I can't wait to share all my favorites with our little ones.

And, my now standard toilet paper question: when you put a new roll on, tail over the top or tail out from under?
I have to think about this one--from the top I guess.

What things do you have ready for the baby?
Not much, so far! I'm feeling like I need to start working on this. I have been getting some handme downs from friends, which I love. So far people have passed along to me a dresser/changing table, crib (probably won't be using it for quite some time, but it was free!), bathtub and some clothing. I plan to CD, so I want to work on building up my stash. We're trying to keep everything relatively simple--we'll see how we do! Our house is tiny, so less is more.

What things that you plan to do have you had the most public comment about?
Co-sleeping for sure. My family always did this, so they think it's great. My in-laws are convinced we will squish the baby, or at least spoil it, and they really feel the need to convince us. I pretty much just nod and smile.

What's the weather like where you are?
Beautiful. We had a really dry and mild winter, and now it is Spring in full force. It's a little rainy today, which is nice--gives me a day off from watering the garden.

What's your favourite article of Maternity clothing?
I love my comfy, stretchy pants that I can wear to work--they look professional, but I feel like I'm in my PJs.

if you could have a dinner party and invite ANY 4 people (no matter when they lived) who would they be and why?
My dad and I have a long running list of people we'd like to invite to dinner. At this point it would be convention sized! Really though, I would love best to get together four of my closest friends who live far away and spend time with them.
