I'm 12 weeks and I have been having a very small amount of bright red spotting, almost more like cervical mucus with bloody streaks, after sex and orgasms for the last few days. I had some of this after vomiting a couple of weeks ago and my midwife said she thought it was a little bit of cervical bleeding from the force of vomiting. I assume sex and orgasm would have a similar effect. Has anyone else had this and if so, was it anything to worry about?

Yep, happens to me every time. If I cough hard, push while pooping, have sex, any number of things that cause pressure on my cervix...

I had it for the first time after sex over the weekend, I'm 12 wks tomorrow. It was just pinkish tinged, but it lasted for the rest of the day. I kind of figured it probably wasn't a big deal but my SO freaked out when I told him and wanted to call the midwife right away.<br><br>
The midwife said pretty much what I expected -- you can go in for an ultrasound, get some testing done, or just wait and see, and she'd recommend the latter because it was almost surely just from the cervix being bumped.<br><br>
A day or so later and it has resolved and I haven't had cramping so I am mostly not worried about it anymore. BUT it does mean my doula is stopping by a week early to listen for the heartbeat, just for reassurance, so that's a good thing!

I haven't experienced this, but honestly, it sounds normal to me. I would sometimes get that when I was not pregnant....

Ha, the funny thing is, every time we've had sex since I got the positive test, I've gone to the bathroom afterwards thinking, "please don't let there be spotting, please don't let there be spotting."<br><br>
Not because I actually thought sex would induce miscarriage, of course. But because you can't *help* but be nervous if you see spotting, no matter how rational you are. This last time, there it was (the spotting), and I thought to myself, "Dammit, I know this is probably nothing, but seriously, no more sex! Not worth the worry!"<br><br>
I think I'll probably change my mind. At least I hope so. Or my SO will help me change my mind <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">

Poor DH, he really wants to. But I feel like puking if I move too much. So, that has all been "no" for me.
