This is pregnancy number 5 for me, the only time I have had spotting was with implantation and then again after sex.. So last night I woke up in the night and wiped after a pee and there was some light pinkish blood in mucus then a bit of blood on my undies this am.. So now I am worried and we just told the kids last night!! I have been feeling so so sick I figured all was OK! Can spotting be normal or is it a sign of coming miscarriage? I have an ultrasound booked Sunday, if there is a heartbeat does that mean all is OK?

I don't know the answers to any of your questions...but I do know that one of my dear friends spotted twice, kind of a lot, like she would have been due with her period, in both of her pregnancies.<br><br>

It can be normal. Sometimes if your cervix gets irritated (often after sex, but sometimes just from walking around), you might have pink or red spotting. I had a week and a half of spotting earlier in this pregnancy, and I've had two ultrasounds showing everything to be fine.<br><br>
It's so scary, though. I hope it stops and you're able to relax a little bit. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">

Dehydration can also cause spotting, too. I had spotting around 6 or 7 weeks with dd and once I upped my water intake, it went away.

I had spotting with all my pregnancies <span style="text-decoration:underline;">except</span> the one I miscarried with. Go figure <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eyesroll.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll">

I have spotted twice alreadt with this pregancy. early at about 5 weeks then just last week, but that one was after sex. I also spotted with my 2nd ds, and everything is fine. I had an ultrasound.<br>
I hope everything is ok.
