So it's been sooo beautiful out, I had no idea how cooped up I was with winter until this gorgeous spring came along! We've been outside a lot every day. We've had all levels of revealing. Just the t-shirt, modest and not so modest split pants, all the way to diapered up. the revealing pants caused shock and awe among the neighbors. My sil jus thought there was something wrong with his pants- they had a hole, or were put on incorrectly? lol. she was a little concerned.
Today, dh and I were outside with ds, who is just now walking, and loves going outside and walking walking walking all around. Ds was wearing a regular looking outfit with shorts but no dipe, just underwear. He's not really signalling for pees these days, what with the wonder of walking, and definately resisting all pottytunities. He just peed, and my neighbor, who was sitting talking to us completely didn't know what to do. She said, "oh.... you had an... accident. " I bet she just thought it was really weird that he wasn't diped.
She's a doctor and has previously mentioned to me this crazy thing she heard about that people actually try to teach their babies to use the potty by holding them. She said it really doesnt make any sense because research has shown that it takes longer to potty train if you start before two years. I really love my neighbors and we are very close. I later thought of all the positive, gentle ways I could have explained. But this time, when he calmly peed right through his clothes, I just laughed and called dh to get the babe some fresh clothes. They must think we're pretty weird already.
