Does anyone have any experience with any OB's in the STL area who are birth plan friendly and supportive of unmedicated childbirth?

Michael Mimlitz is my OB. He followed my birth plan to a T and recommended I deliver at MO Baptist so I could be unmedicated (his other hospitals are St. Johns - which I would die before using - and St. Lukes - which looked cool during the tour, but I wasn't happy with their epidural rate).

All in all I had the best childbirth experience.

Good luck.

I had a completely natural birth at Missouri Baptist, too. My OB was very supportive, Dr. Mormol. He encourages birth plans, follows them, and is very respectful. He also supported me in refusing the IV and Hep-Lock at the hosptial which was really important to me.

I had to get permission for that, too. The hospital *really* wanted to have one, but, thanks to my doctor supported birth plan, they couldn't force me.

I had a really bad experience with Dr. Mormol & his staff that resulted in a miscarriage (which may or may not have happened regardless). I thought he was really a jerk, but I've read other people on here that really liked him.

I used Dr. Simckes for two births, but a lot of people don't like his style. He's a fast talking Eastcoaster, but has a really good heart. I actually wanted to recommend his partner, Dr. Forseter. http://www.goodgyn.com/forseter.html

There's another old post that has a lot of recommendations.

Dr. Turner delivered both my girls. I chose to have Ava naturally and only went to the hospital for the birth. I labored at home. She was incredibly supportive of all this. She actually recommended Barnes for a natural birth, and i found everyone there incredibly supportive of me. They kept coming by the next day to congratulate me on my awesome birth! Feel free to PM me for more info. Good luck!
